The Irish Blessing 2020, released on Youtube

Over 300 Churches in Ireland from North and South and from all 32 counties participated in the Irish Blessing song launched on 31st May Pentecost Sunday.   Two weeks after it’s launch it has 590,000 hits on You Tube.  It is the ancient Irish blessing “Be Thou My Vision” and ends with a spoken Aaronic blessing from Book of Numbers 6:23-27 in Irish, English, Hebrew etc.  It is dedicated to the front line staff in Ireland fighting the Corona Virus.

It was inspired by The UK Blessing song which has over 3 million hits on You Tube in 4 weeks. It was a wonderful interdenominational initiative and as you can see 65 UK Churches joined together to pray the Aaronic blessing in song in recognition of all the front line staff in the UK. You can find out more about the churches and organisations represented in it, and the keyworkers it’s dedicated to at theirishblessing.com

The Irish Blessing was welcomed by an Taoiseach – Leo Varadaker – and got a good profile in the media.  You can see the RTE report on it here.

Please feel free to share this video with others and pray the Lord will bless these initiatives as they demonstrate the power of a united witness for Jesus among Christians around the world. May He send Renewal and Revival to Ireland and to his World.
